women getting a peel brushed on her face

Full peeling ahead!

Let us introduce you to our new Circadia Mandiclear Peel - Circadia is a professional skincare brand that was founded by a doctor who dove into the world of skin and how it works. Circadia skincare is revolved around the skin and the bodies circadian rhythm - “defending the skin from damage during the day, and stimulating repair during sleep.”

Our new Medi Peel treatment is the ultimate ethanol based peel for clients who are looking to repair dull, acneic, dry, aging, sundamaged, pigmented skin. This treatment can be used on any skin tone and take less than 30 minutes within our express facial area.

Our advanced Medi Peel is not recommended for first time peel clients. A professional homeware routine is recommended for the two weeks prior to your medi peel treatment to properly prepare your skin. We recommend a progressive treatment plan starting with our no peel peels first (labeled as chemical peel on our service menu) before advancing to the "Medi Peel" to ensure a safe and effective treatment. A commitment of 3-6 treatments is recommended for best results every 6-8 weeks.

How does it work ?

The Medi Peel contains 7% lactic acid, 9% mandelic acid, 7% resourcinol and 7% salicylic acid - key ingredients in helping with hydration, anti-aging (cell turnover), acne, and hyperpigmentation. This peel travels deep into the layers of the skin, encouraging cellular turnover.

Breakdown of the treatment:

  • Pre cleanse

  • Cleanse

  • Layer of mandiclear (up to 3 layers allowed with 5-7 minutes between each layer)

  • Vitamin A accelerator (up to 3 layers allowed with 5-7 minutes between each layer)

  • Lip balm

Because of the acids and the strict protocol from Circadia, this treatment can't have the usual additives that we offer at glow such as a jelly mask, facial massage, LED light therapy, etc. But the results are amazing! After the peel is applied to the skin, you cannot get apply water or products for 12 hours, this is key to the success of the Medi peel. Any water or moisture applied to the skin during this time can cause a chemical burn so strict post care must be followed. You will expect peeling starting on day 2 for about 4 -6 days, followed with sensitivity, dry skin, mild irritation, and redness.

What NOT to do after a Medi peel:

  • NO sauna for 2 weeks

  • NO jacuzzi for 2 weeks

  • NO swimming for 2 weeks

  • NO water on face for 12 hours

  • NO products on skin fr 12 hours

  • NO exfoliation, acid, waxing, threading or acids on the skin for 2 weeks

  • NO exercising, alcohol or raising of the body temperature for 24 hours

You will receive a post-procedure skincare kit that will have products you will need to apply for the following “peel” week that comes with step by step instructions.

Will you be trying our new Medi peel ?

before and after pictures of botox

By now you've definitely heard of botox, but what does it do REALLY and how do you know if it's for you!

At GLOW, we work with Nurse Svetlana for our injectables and have been thrilled with the natural results as the perfect boost to our skincare routine.

Botulinum Toxin

What is Botulinum Toxin and what does it do?

Botulinum toxin, also referred to as neuromodulator is a purified substance derived from bacteria. Injection of neuromodulator blocks the release of acetylcholine, the main neurotransmitter that signals the muscles to contract. Without the signal, the muscle is not able to contract which results in diminished facial wrinkles appearance.

What to expect?

It can take 3-14 days before you notice any effect from botulinum toxins. The full effect will take up to 2 weeks. The results will last 3-4 months on average. After that you will begin to see the wrinkles and lines return.

Which areas can be treated with botulinum toxin?

Your injector will be able to address the areas of most concern based on your individual anatomy. The most commonly treated areas are forehead, between the eyebrow area (the elevens) and crow’s feet, the wrinkles around the eyes. Neuromodulators used therapeutically can help to alleviate symptoms experienced with bruxism (teeth grinding & clenching), and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). You can even get it on your upper lip to avoid a 'gummy' smile!

Common side effects?

· Pain

· Bruising at the injection site

· Bleeding

· Redness

Post care instructions include:

· Avoiding laying down and staying upright for at least 4 hours after botulinum toxin treatment.

· No exercise for at least 4 h post-procedure.

· Avoiding hot tubs and saunas for at least 24h.

· No make-up application after injection and keeping the skin clean.

Botulinum toxin types currently approved by FDA and Health Canada for cosmetic and/or therapeutic use:

Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and Nuiceva®

All of the above brands are offered here at GLOW. Why not have a complimentary consultation to learn more! Book your complementary consult here

We’ve got a new addition to our GLOW services!

Microneedling 3.0 is a power house treatment that targets fine lines/wrinkles, pigmentation, scarring & dull skin!

We’ve combined two of our popular treatments - Microneedling, JetPeel & LED Light Therapy to assist you in reaching your ultimate skin goals. Studies have shown that after Microneedling using gentle chemical peels to penetrate into the skin will heighten the results of the treatment. Jet peel also cools and soothe the skin, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and revived while the LED Light therapy provides your cells with the energy it needs to function properly and reduce inflammation.

How does it work?

Your aesthetician will perform Microneedling as per protocol, then they will let the skin relax with a hydrating sheet mask that will absorb into the skin. Once the mask is off, the jet peel begins! Your aesthetician will perform lymphatic drainage with our Jet water, which, contains aloe, and hyaluronic acid. This will help move lymph fluid, as well as cool the skin down. Next is the important part, the acids! Your aesthetician will infuse a gentle chemical peel into the skin. This will help with better skin texture, brightness and firming. Then LED Light therapy will help your cells with ATP production which lowers inflammation and helps with anti aging!

P.s. extractions, cleansing, massage is all still included!

What to expect over the next couple days?

Microneedling 3.0 is a treatment to target anti-aging at a deeper level in the skin, so you may expect to see peeling, dry skin, redness and flaking for a week. We do recommend throughout the next 14 days post treatment to use mild/gentle products on the skin (available at GLOW) and pairing our Anteage system to get maximum results and faster healing time.

This 3- in - 1 treatment is priced at $450 and is 2 hours.

Have you tried microneedling before? It is recommended to try these services separate, before combining. See you in the Fall!

Xo,

The GLOW Beauty Bar Team.
