At GLOW Beauty Bar, integrity has always been at the heart of everything we do — from the treatments we offer and the products we select, to the impact we have beyond the walls of our Etobicoke spa. That's why we're proud to share a meaningful milestone: GLOW Beauty Bar is now officially partnered with Green Circle Salons, North America's leading sustainability program for the professional beauty industry.
What Is Green Circle Salons?
Founded in 2008 and recognized as a Certified B Corporation, Green Circle Salons is a North American organization dedicated to diverting beauty industry waste away from landfills and waterways. With a network of over 15,000 member salons and spas across North America, their collective efforts recover more than one million pounds of beauty waste every year — and now, GLOW is part of that movement.
What Does This Mean at GLOW?
Through this partnership, up to 95% of the waste generated during your treatments is now being recovered and repurposed rather than sent to a landfill. Here's exactly what that looks like behind the scenes at our Etobicoke spa:
Single-use treatment items — gloves, gauze, applicators, Q-tips, and more — are collected and diverted from landfill rather than discarded with general waste.
Product packaging and containers — tubes, bottles, and jars — are sorted and recycled through Green Circle's specialized stream, ensuring they don't end up in the wrong place.
Excess treatment products — leftover masks, serums, and treatment mixtures — are recovered and converted into clean energy instead of going to waste.
Paper and plastics generated throughout the spa are repurposed into new materials, completing the cycle.
