Glowtox Dry Oil

Proper layering of skincare products enhances their effectiveness. Here's a recommended routine incorporating Glowtox products:

  1. 1st Cleanse: Start with Glowtox Cleansing Oil to remove makeup and impurities.

  2. 2nd Cleanse: A second cleanse is recommended in the evenings for a deeper clean.

  3. Toner: Apply a hydrating toner to balance skin pH.

  4. Serum: Use targeted treatments for specific concerns.

  5. Moisturizer: Lock in hydration with a suitable moisturizer.

  6. Glowtox Dry Oil: Seal in moisture and provide antioxidant benefits.

  7. Sunscreen (AM Routine): Protect your skin from UV damage.

Allow each product to absorb fully before applying the next to prevent pilling and ensure maximum efficacy.

Pro tip: Only use 1-3 drops of the Glowtox Dry Oil and pat into the skin.

Purging skin

Introducing new skincare products can sometimes lead to skin purging or breakouts. When your skin flares up, it’s hard to know whether to stick with a product or toss it. It's essential to distinguish between the two:

Purging vs. Breaking Out:

  • Skin Purging: A temporary increase in breakouts due to accelerated skin cell turnover, often occurring when using products with active ingredients. In simpler terms, purging is everything that was stuck under the skin that has now been brought to the service of the skin after your treatment. Purging usually subsides within 5-7 days from your last treatment.

  • Breakouts: New blemishes caused by irritation or clogged pores from comedogenic ingredients. Breakouts from reactions often include irritation, redness, or big pustules in unusual areas.

Our Glowtox products are formulated with non-comedogenic oils like Grapeseed and Jojoba, minimizing the risk of pore blockage. However, individual reactions can vary.

Tips:

  • Introduce new products gradually, especially with oil-based or exfoliating products.

  • Perform a patch test before full application on your jawline or neck before full-face use.

  • Consult with a skincare professional if uncertain.

  • Stop use if breakouts worsen after 2–3 weeks.

Other Factors:

  • Hormonal shifts, diet, and product combinations can all play a role.

Pro Tip: This one gets me every time! Why I always introduce 4 products at the same time is beyond me, as I am always struggling to figure out which one is causing me to break out! If you are sensitive like me, perhaps try introducing just 1 product at a time, starting with the neck area, and after a couple of days, introduce it to your full face routine.

Also, a little bit goes a long way! Don’t use too much, and always be sure you are applying the product in the correct order of your routine (remember, thinnest to thickest!)

Cleansing oil with the cap off

Many users may not realize that cleansing oils require proper emulsification with water to effectively remove makeup and impurities. Our Glowtox Cleansing Oil, formulated with Grapeseed and Apricot Kernel oils, is designed to gently cleanse while nourishing the skin.

Proper Usage Steps:

  1. Shake Well: Ensure the oils are well-mixed.

  2. Apply to Dry Skin: Using dry hands, massage a few pumps (2 - 7 pumps) onto dry face and eyes.

  3. Emulsify: Add a small amount of water to the face with your fingertips and massage to create a milky texture.

  4. Rinse Thoroughly: Use lukewarm water to remove all residue.

  5. Follow Up: Proceed with your regular cleanser if desired and wipe clean with a disposable towelette.

Pro tip: Sometimes, if I am wearing a lot of makeup, I will triple cleanse! Twice with my oil cleanser, and once with my gel cleanser. I also love to use the disposable towelettes to remove the cleansing oil before going in with my regular cleanser!

Another great tip would be to use the Cleansing Oil, follow up with your regular cleanser (gel or cream), then use an exfoliant for a deeper clean - note this is recommended 1-3 times per week, so maybe save this routine for those heavy makeup days :)

Using the oil correctly won’t leave your skin feeling dry or tight, and will ensure effective, deep, nourishing cleansing without leaving an unwanted film.
