If you’ve been on a GLP-1 medication like Ozempic or Wegovy or you’re simply watching the conversation unfold, you may have noticed something unexpected: the weight changes, but the face changes too. Volume shifts. Skin that once felt firm starts to feel softer, looser, less like yours. It even has a name now: GLP-1 face.

It’s not a flaw. It’s biology. And it’s something we can address.

What’s Actually Happening On GLP-1

GLP-1 medications work by reducing appetite and accelerating fat loss. But fat in the face is structural — it supports the cheeks, the under-eye area, and the jawline. When that fat diminishes quickly, the skin above it can’t always keep up. The result is an appearance of hollowness, laxity, or accelerated aging that feels misaligned with how well you’re actually feeling.

On top of volume loss, rapid changes in body composition can affect skin hydration, collagen density, and overall elasticity. The skin is an organ, and it responds to what’s happening internally.

What Restoration Actually Looks Like

Addressing GLP-1 face isn’t about reversing your progress, it’s about bringing your skin back into harmony with the rest of you. At GLOW, we approach this with a protocol built around three goals:

—  Stimulating collagen production to restore structural support from within

—  Improving skin texture, tone, and density so the surface reflects the health underneath

—  Addressing volume loss through treatments that work with your biology, not against it

This typically involves a combination of collagen-induction treatments like microneedling, skin-tightening modalities, and where appropriate, a conversation with our nurse about biostimulating injectables like Sculptra, which builds your own collagen gradually over several months.

The goal is never to look “done.” It’s to look like yourself, rested and restored.

One Conversation Changes Everything

The most important thing we can tell you: this is not a one-size-fits-all situation. Every face is different. Where volume has shifted, how much elasticity remains, what the skin needs most — these are all individual. A complimentary consultation with our team is where we map it out together and build a plan that makes sense for your skin, your goals, and your timeline.

You did something meaningful for your health. Let’s make sure your skin reflects that.

There's a particular kind of hesitation that comes with booking an 'advanced' facial for the first time. The word suggests results which is exactly what you want, but it can also suggest recovery time, redness, or that you'll need to clear your schedule for a few days afterwards. With Medi 2.0, none of that applies. Here's a transparent look at what actually happens from the moment you arrive.

What Medi 2.0 is designed to do

Medi 2.0 is GLOW's advanced, results-driven facial; a 90-minute treatment targeting the skin concerns that matter most to our clients: congestion, dullness, uneven texture, and a complexion that's lost its clarity. It's not a relaxation facial, though it absolutely is relaxing. It's designed to deliver visible, meaningful change, the kind you notice in the mirror the next morning.

It's suitable for all skin types. There's no downtime. And this July, everyone pays our member price — $280 instead of the regular $350, no membership required.

Step by step: what to expect

  • Your consultation. Every Medi 2.0 begins with a brief consultation. We use advanced skin imaging to assess your skin in real time — looking at hydration, congestion, tone, and texture beneath the surface. This is how we personalize the treatment rather than applying the same protocol to every client.

  • Deep cleanse and preparation. The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove every trace of SPF, makeup, and daily buildup. This isn't a cursory rinse — it's a full preparation stage that allows every subsequent step to perform at its best.

  • Exfoliation and extractions. We work through the surface of the skin — gently but effectively — to clear congestion and refine texture. This is the stage that makes the most visible difference for clients dealing with blackheads, enlarged pores, or skin that feels rough to the touch.

  • Lymphatic drainage massage. A gentle, rhythmic facial massage encourages lymphatic flow — helping to reduce puffiness, support circulation, and leave the skin looking sculpted and refreshed. It's also one of the most relaxing parts of the treatment, a moment to simply switch off.

  • Active treatment. A customized chemical peel is applied to address brightness, texture, and tone at a deeper level. The formulation is selected based on your consultation — what your skin needs, not a standard protocol. (For expecting clients, we swap this step for a pregnancy-safe glow boost. Just let us know at booking.)

  • LED light therapy. Targeted LED light is used to calm the skin and support recovery after the active stage — helping to soothe the look of redness and encourage a clear, even finish. It's completely comfortable, with nothing to feel but warmth and light.

  • Brightening and recovery. Active ingredients are followed by recovery-focused serums and a nourishing mask designed to calm, replenish, and prepare the skin barrier for the work it's just done.

  • Finishing and protection. We complete the treatment with SPF and a brief review of what we observed and recommend for your home care going forward. You leave with a clear plan, not just a glowing face.

Why there's no downtime

The chemical peel used in Medi 2.0 is calibrated specifically to deliver results without the recovery period associated with stronger clinical peels. You may notice that your skin looks slightly flushed immediately after, this settles within a few hours. Some clients experience mild dryness over the day or two following, which is the surface of the skin gently renewing itself. You can return to your day immediately after your appointment.

What you should avoid for 24–48 hours: additional exfoliants, active ingredients, and intense heat (saunas, very hot showers). Keep it simple, keep it protected with SPF, and let the treatment do its work.

Who it's right for

Medi 2.0 is for any client ready to move beyond a maintenance facial and into results-driven territory, without committing to downtime. It's a guest favourite for clients dealing with post-summer pigmentation, ongoing congestion, or skin that's been through a lot and needs a thoughtful reset.

If you're pregnant, we can absolutely tailor the treatment for you. We swap the chemical peel step for a pregnancy-safe glow boost, the rest of the experience remains the same. Suitability is always confirmed during your complimentary consultation.

Ready to experience Medi 2.0? This July, everyone pays our member price — $280 (regularly $350), no membership required. Book your appointment or book a complimentary consultation to find out if Medi 2.0 is the right treatment for where your skin is right now. 🧡

Results may vary. Individual outcomes depend on skin type and treatment plan. Medi 2.0 offer valid July 1–31, 2026. Pregnancy-safe version available — suitability confirmed at consultation.

You've been diligent all year; consistent treatments, a routine you've refined, skin you feel genuinely confident in. Then summer arrives, and something shifts. A little more unevenness. A dullness that wasn't there in May. Congestion that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. You're not imagining it. Summer changes your skin in very real, very specific ways and understanding why is the first step to keeping your glow.

What summer actually does to your skin

Heat accelerates oil production. Even clients who have never considered themselves oily notice an increase in congestion and breakouts in July and August. More sebum means more opportunity for pores to become impacted and for the surface of the skin to lose its refined, even texture.

UV exposure triggers melanin production. This is your skin's natural defence mechanism, but the side effect is pigmentation: sunspots, post-inflammatory marks that linger longer, and an overall unevenness in skin tone. These changes are cumulative. A single beach weekend doesn't cause lasting damage, but a summer of daily exposure — even incidental, through car windows and commutes — absolutely does.

Heat and humidity disrupt your skin barrier. The barrier is the outermost layer of skin responsible for holding moisture in and keeping irritants out. In humid conditions, the skin can feel hydrated on the surface while losing its ability to regulate itself effectively beneath. The result: sensitivity, reactivity, and a complexion that looks tired even when you're not. The SPF conversation, every time

If there is one thing our team returns to in every summer consultation, it's this: SPF is not optional. It is the single most effective thing you can do to prevent pigmentation, preserve your skin's texture, and protect the results of every treatment you invest in. SPF 30 minimum, every morning, even on overcast days. Even in the car. Even if you think you won't be outside much.

If you're using exfoliating acids or vitamin C — including the acids in Miracle 10 — daily SPF is non-negotiable. These ingredients increase photosensitivity, which means unprotected sun exposure works directly against the results you're working toward.

What your skin actually needs right now

Summer doesn't mean stepping back from results-driven skincare. It means adapting it. A few adjustments that make a significant difference:

  • Cleanse thoroughly at the end of the day.  Sunscreen, sweat, and increased sebum need to be fully removed, not just rinsed. A 60-second massage with your cleanser is worth it.
  • Keep your routine lighter in texture, not lighter in actives.  Swap heavier moisturisers for a hydrating serum under a lightweight SPF. Your skin still needs support, it just doesn't need weight.
  • Stay consistent with in-clinic treatments.  The right summer facial works with your skin's current state addressing congestion, refreshing tone, and supporting clarity without triggering sensitivity. A consultation helps us confirm which treatments are appropriate for the season.

The glow is still there, it just needs support

Summer skin isn't damaged skin. It's skin that's working harder than usual, responding to more variables, and asking for a little more attention. The good news: with the right home care and the right in-clinic support, the results you've built don't have to slow down for the season.

This July, we're making it easy. Medi 2.0, our advanced, results-driven facial targeting congestion, brightness, and skin clarity is available at our member price for everyone, no membership required. One and a half hours, no downtime, visible results. Book your appointment or start with a complimentary consultation and we'll build a summer skin plan that works for where your skin is right now. ✨

Individual results may vary. Always wear SPF when using products containing exfoliating acids.
