October has a way of asking us to let go of the last of summer, of dull and uneven skin, of anything that isn't serving our glow. This year, GLOW Beauty Bar is embracing the season with Shed the Dead: an intimate Cold Peel party at our Etobicoke spa on Thursday, October 15th.

What Is the Cold Peel at GLOW? The Cold Peel is a corrective, medium-depth peel powered by the Cimel Activator — a blend of retinol, alpha-arbutin, kojic acid, and salicylic acid formulated to target acne, uneven tone, pigmentation, and fine lines. It's designed to correct: one thin, expertly applied layer activates a controlled peeling process that resurfaces your skin over the following days, with little to no tingling upon application.

It's safe for all skin tones (Fitzpatrick I–VI). Most guests notice visible improvements in tone, clarity, and texture within 10 to 14 days, with fuller correction typically achieved over a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced four weeks apart. Individual results may vary, and your aesthetician will build your plan around your specific skin goals.

What to Expect the Night Of Your skin is cleansed and prepped before your aesthetician applies a single, even layer of the Cimel Activator. You'll feel some warmth and light tingling, but nothing intense, this is a corrective treatment, not a relaxation facial, so there's no massage or mask involved. You'll be told exactly when to wash the peel off once home.

Over the days that follow, redness and tightness begin within 24–48 hours, with visible peeling between days 2 and 5, usually starting around the mouth and spreading outward. Most guests are fully healed by day 7.

Is It Right for You? The Cold Peel is a great fit if you're concerned with acne, pigmentation, scarring, or uneven tone, ready for visible flaking, and committed to a short but non-negotiable aftercare plan. It's not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while on photosensitizing medication. Your aesthetician will review your skin and health history before your session, book a complimentary consultation if you have questions ahead of the event.

An Evening Designed Around You Shed the Dead is intentionally small. We're welcoming just 18 guests, each with their own 30-minute treatment slot between 5 and 8 PM, so every visit still feels personal, unrushed, and distinctly GLOW. Light seasonal bites and refreshments will be served throughout the evening; come for your peel, stay for the company.

The Booster Bar Every Cold Peel can be personalized. On the night of Shed the Dead, guests can add on any of the following at 20% off: Microcurrent (10 min), Lymphatic Drainage (10 min), Extra Extraction Time (15 min), Microdermabrasion (10 min), Dark Circles Peel (15 min), or a HydraFacial (20 min).

Whatever your skin is asking for this season, our aestheticians can help you build the right combination for the night.

Take Your Glow Home: The Recovery Set Peel days call for the right aftercare. We've curated a Recovery Set with everything your skin needs to heal beautifully: the Post-Peel Kit ($50): Hale Derma Spray ($35), and Travel Glowtox Oil ($25). Each is available individually at regular price, GLOW+ members enjoy their usual 10% product discount — or bundle all three for $99, a $110 value.

Start Your Series: The Day-of Special Because full correction is best achieved over a series of treatments, we're making it easy to commit: pre-book your next Cold Peel session before you leave Shed the Dead and save 30% on that visit.

Reserving Your Spot The Cold Peel is $149 for the evening (regularly $250), our way of celebrating the season with the GLOW community. Reserving your spot is simple: no deposit required. Full payment is due the evening of the event. GLOW+ members get first access to reserve beginning September 1; the remaining spots open to the public on September 18.

Spaces are limited to 18 guests. Call 647-330-6044 or email us at info@glowbeautybar.ca to reserve your slot for Shed the Dead.

Terms apply. Individual results may vary. Not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while on photosensitizing medication.

Before we dive into peel season, it helps to know what a Medi Peel is ACTUALLY doing. In 30 minutes, this treatment works on pigmentation, texture, scarring, acne, and skin longevity — the deeper concerns a surface facial can't quite reach, and it's formulated to work safely across a wide range of skin tones.

What to expect during your Medi Peel treatment

Your aesthetician applies the peel in layers, right in our express treatment area, tailoring the formulation to what your skin needs most, whether that's congestion and acne, pigmentation and sun damage, or early signs of aging. Here's the detail that surprises most first-timers: nothing goes on top of the peel once it's applied. It's designed to self-neutralize on its own, so we'll ask you to avoid water and other skincare products on the area for about 12 hours afterward; simple, but it matters for getting the full benefit.

Getting your skin ready

Most clients spend a couple of weeks beforehand on a professional home care routine with brightening ingredients, which helps protect against pigmentation changes during the peel, and we'll ask you to hold off on sun exposure, waxing, and retinol or other exfoliants in the days leading up to your appointment. Timing, formulation, and whether it's the right fit for you at all, we confirm all of it at your consultation first.

Recovery and results

It's not a treatment for the night before an event. Peeling typically begins around day two and continues through the week, along with some redness, sensitivity, or flaking; all a normal part of your skin renewing itself. Most clients see the biggest transformation from a series, typically 3 to 6 treatments spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, though you'll notice a difference after just one. Your aesthetician will help map out a plan around your skin's goals.

This month, it's complimentary with any new GLOW+ Membership sign-up or renewal — a $155 value, and one of the last few spots in this year's cap of 20. Individual results may vary, but the investment in your skin's long-term health is always worth it.

If you've been considering GLOW+, this is the week to make it official.

If your goal is to feel confident in your own skin; barefaced, unfiltered, glowing , the treatments you book and the products you use at home should work as a team. That's exactly why we love Miracle 10.

Miracle 10 Product in hands

What Miracle 10 actually is

Miracle 10 is a Canadian cosmeceutical skincare line, founded and developed in Toronto and made exclusively in Canada. 'Cosmeceutical' means the formulas sit between everyday beauty products and clinical-grade actives, calibrated just below medical grade to deliver real, visible change without downtime. The line is women-led, fragrance-free, paraben-free, and never tested on animals — clean, considered, and effective.

The thinking behind the '10'

Miracle 10's philosophy is that your skin, like any part of the body, responds to being gently exercised. Well-formulated actives encourage your skin to do what it does best: renew itself, and produce the moisture, collagen, and elastin that keep it looking healthy and radiant.

The brand frames its results in a memorable rhythm: smoother, clearer-looking skin in about 10 hours, a brighter and more even-looking tone in about 10 days, and more refined texture and pores in about 10 weeks. As with any skincare, these are the brand's claims and individual results may vary, consistency over roughly 10 weeks is where the results really show.

How to build your routine

One of the best things about Miracle 10 is how the products work together. A simple, effective ritual:

  • Cleanse. Start with Cleanser I (gentle, gel-based) for delicate skin, or Cleanser II (active foaming with glycolic acid) to deep-clean and remove makeup. Massage for a full 60 seconds.

  • Exfoliate. Solution I — an exfoliating toner — sweeps away dull surface cells to encourage renewal and brighten. Gentle enough for regular use.

  • Nourish. Light Serum delivers vitamins, peptides, and hyaluronic acid — lightweight hydration that won't clog pores.

  • Moisturize. Seal it in with a moisturizer suited to your skin — luxurious, never heavy.

  • Protect (every morning). Because the line's acids can increase sun sensitivity, daily SPF is essential. Finish with Miracle 10 SPF 45 — yes, even in winter, and especially in summer.

Who it's for

Miracle 10 is made for every skin type, with collections for Normal/Maturing, Acne-Prone/Oily, Delicate/Dry, and Men. It's approachable enough if you're new to results-driven skincare, and effective enough for a seasoned skincare lover looking for their next step.

Why we carry it at GLOW

We're selective about the brands we bring into the spa. Miracle 10 earns its place because it's proudly Canadian, beautifully formulated, and an accessible way to invest in results-driven skincare. It also extends the work we do in treatment, what we begin in the spa, your home routine maintains between visits. Every GLOW recommendation begins with expert consultation and advanced skin imaging, so you're never guessing which products are right for you. Personalized, never one-size-fits-all.

Members, mark your calendar: from July 14–18, GLOW+ members enjoy 35% off the entire Miracle 10 line, in store and online. Not yet a member? Ask us about joining GLOW+ and start your glow ritual with us. ✨

Individual results may vary. Miracle 10 result timelines reflect the brand's own claims. Always wear daily SPF when using products containing exfoliating acids.
