A female receiving a microneedling treatment with the dp4

At GLOW Beauty Bar, we're known for results-driven treatments, luxurious experiences, and staying at the forefront of advanced skin technology. That's why we’re proud to officially introduce the Dermapen 4 (DP4) —the latest and most advanced microneedling device on the market.

This upgrade reflects our continued commitment to delivering safe, effective, and innovative solutions for your skin. Whether you’re treating acne scars, pigmentation, fine lines, or overall skin texture, the DP4 is designed to give better results in less time—with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Why We Upgraded to the DP4 at GLOW Beauty Bar

Our mission has always been to deliver results-driven treatments in a relaxing atmosphere, and we believe our clients deserve access to the best tools available.

Here’s why we made the switch to the DP4:

Technology You Can Feel: The DP4 is the fastest microneedling device in the world, capable of creating up to 1,920 micro-channels per second. This means quicker treatments and more visible results.

Advanced Comfort & Customization: With 16 ultrafine, medical-grade needles and digitally controlled depths, treatments are tailored to your skin’s exact needs—with noticeably less discomfort than older devices.

Stronger Results, Safely Delivered: The DP4 includes a Scar Treatment (ST) mode with penetration depths up to 3.0 mm, allowing us to treat deep acne scars and stretch marks more effectively and safely.

Better Product Absorption: DP4 microneedling allows up to 80% greater absorption of active ingredients. This means your post-treatment serums work even harder, giving your skin a glow that lasts.

The Benefits of DP4 Microneedling

With the DP4, you can expect:

-Increased collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother, younger-looking skin

-Minimized fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars

Purging skin

Introducing new skincare products can sometimes lead to skin purging or breakouts. When your skin flares up, it’s hard to know whether to stick with a product or toss it. It's essential to distinguish between the two:

Purging vs. Breaking Out:

  • Skin Purging: A temporary increase in breakouts due to accelerated skin cell turnover, often occurring when using products with active ingredients. In simpler terms, purging is everything that was stuck under the skin that has now been brought to the service of the skin after your treatment. Purging usually subsides within 5-7 days from your last treatment.

  • Breakouts: New blemishes caused by irritation or clogged pores from comedogenic ingredients. Breakouts from reactions often include irritation, redness, or big pustules in unusual areas.

Our Glowtox products are formulated with non-comedogenic oils like Grapeseed and Jojoba, minimizing the risk of pore blockage. However, individual reactions can vary.

Tips:

  • Introduce new products gradually, especially with oil-based or exfoliating products.

  • Perform a patch test before full application on your jawline or neck before full-face use.

  • Consult with a skincare professional if uncertain.

  • Stop use if breakouts worsen after 2–3 weeks.

Other Factors:

  • Hormonal shifts, diet, and product combinations can all play a role.

Pro Tip: This one gets me every time! Why I always introduce 4 products at the same time is beyond me, as I am always struggling to figure out which one is causing me to break out! If you are sensitive like me, perhaps try introducing just 1 product at a time, starting with the neck area, and after a couple of days, introduce it to your full face routine.

Also, a little bit goes a long way! Don’t use too much, and always be sure you are applying the product in the correct order of your routine (remember, thinnest to thickest!)

Girl peeling after receiving cold peel

As we step into peel season, there’s no better time to introduce a new treatment at GLOW Beauty Bar: The Cold Peel. This innovative peel is designed to give you smoother, brighter, and more even-toned skin, making it the perfect addition to your skincare routine as the weather cools down.

What is The Cold Peel?

Unlike traditional chemical peels, this treatment delivers powerful results without the harsh chemical feel. The Cimel Activator is specially designed to address skin tone irregularities, reduce the signs of aging, and diminish acne scars, all while increasing skin radiance and smoothing texture. It’s suitable for all skin phototypes I-VI and is packed with potent ingredients, including:

·      Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract: A natural antioxidant that brightens the skin and reduces pigmentation.

·      Alpha-Arbutin: A powerful skin brightener that helps to fade dark spots and even out skin tone.

·      Kojic Acid: Known for its ability to inhibit melanin production, making it effective in lightening skin discoloration.

·      Salicylic Acid: A beta hydroxy acid that penetrates the skin to exfoliate and clear out clogged pores.

·      Retinol: A form of vitamin A that promotes cell turnover, smooths fine lines, and improves skin texture.

This peel is particularly well-suited for those who are comfortable with the peeling process, which can last up to a week. It's ideal for addressing concerns such as uneven texture, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and signs of aging.

Pre-Peel Preparation

To maximize the safety and effectiveness of The Cold Peel, it’s crucial to prepare your skin in advance:

First Facial Treatment: If this is your first facial treatment, The Cold Peel may not be the best option. We aim to be progressive, not aggressive, to ensure a safe and effective experience.

Professional Home Care Regimen: You must be on a professional home care regimen that includes skin brighteners for at least two weeks before your peel. This helps to even out your skin tone and minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Avoid Certain Products: Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, and other active ingredients a few days before your peel to reduce the risk of irritation.

Recent Sunburn or Sun Exposure: Avoid sun exposure for 1 week prior to treatment.

Waxing: No waxing should be done 2 weeks prior to the treatment.

Skin Condition: The peel is not recommended for very dehydrated skin or if your lipid barrier is compromised.

Advanced Treatments: You must wait 4 weeks after receiving other advanced treatments before undergoing The Cold Peel.

Post-Peel Care: Ensuring Optimal Results

What to Expect

The Cimel Activator, the key component of The Cold Peel, often requires only one application to begin showing effects. During your Cold Peel appointment, our expert aestheticians will cleanse your skin and apply a thin layer of the Cimel Activator to the affected areas. The application is designed to provide minimal potency feel in the clinic compared to other peels, though results may vary depending on factors such as skin phototype, the intensity of lesion color, and the delicacy or resistance of the treated area.

On Day 2 following the application of the Cimel Activator, you can expect visible redness over all treated areas, which may last up to 2-3 days. The area will be photosensitive, and peeling will typically begin during days 2-7. It is crucial to follow the post-procedure protocol as recommended by your aesthetician to achieve optimal results. Expect your rejuvenated skin to appear visibly lighter, more radiant, and smoother within 28 days.

Cold Peel Aftercare

Avoid Water and Products for the First Few Hours: Follow the specific instructions provided by your aesthetician, which may include avoiding water or any skincare products for the first 8-12 hours post-peel.

Moisturize: Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to soothe and protect your skin as it heals. Look for products free of fragrances and irritants.

Sun Protection: Your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage after the peel, so apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, even if you’re indoors.

Skip the Gym: Avoid saunas, hot tubs, swimming, and intense exercise for 1 week to prevent irritatation.

No Picking or Peeling: As tempting as it may be, do not pick or peel the flaking skin. Let it shed naturally to avoid scarring and uneven results.

Gentle Cleansing: Stick to a mild cleanser and avoid any exfoliating scrubs or brushes until your skin has fully healed.

What NOT to Do After The Cold Peel

Proper post-peel care is essential to ensure the best results and avoid complications. Here’s what you should avoid:

- No Sauna for 1 week

- No Jacuzzi for 1-2 weeks

- No Swimming for 1-2 weeks

- No Water or Products on Face for the Recommended Number of Hours

- No Exfoliation, Acid, Waxing, Threading, or Acids on the Skin for 2 Weeks

- No Exercising, Alcohol, or Raising of Body Temperature for 24 Hours
